Saying that I love to run is a bit of an overstatement. I enjoy it. I like the way my body feels as my heart rate ramps up, beating in its knowing rhythm like my feet on the pavement. I like to sweat and relish the feeling of beads streaming into my eyes as I run, knowing I’m accomplishing something for the day.
I miss it. The athleticism involved. The sense of competition.
Unfortunately, an autoimmune disease has left its imprint on my lifestyle, and it’s been a number of years since I’ve been able to run with any vigor.
So I received a mixed blessing when I, along with PhaseAlpha, LLC, was tasked with designing the website for Louisburg’s annual 5K, Blazin’ the Burg. The job allowed me, in a way, to participate in a race again.
**Thanks to the Louisburg Herald for providing some of the images for the site. We definitely appreciate it.**
