Hurst Construction, Inc., had very clear instructions for recreating its company logo: create something fresh while paying homage to the original design. The company wanted something rugged and industrial to capture the feel of its industry, but it needed to be iconic. Hurst typically works with a high-end clientele, and the logo needed to be easily identifiable.
After pouring through hundreds of vintage logos for inspiration (so much fun!) and going through several drafts, I arrived at a simple design with a sturdy feel. I kept the circle as a tribute to the original, but changed the orange to a redder hue.
