Wedding preparations are in full swing at the Tompkins’ and Beggs’ households, and I’ve had the pleasure of lending a helping hand.
Like most couples, these two are on a strict budget, so I shot a mini-engagement session for them and designed the invitation packages for their wedding and rehearsal dinner.
Shot at Shawnee Mission Park on a dreary fall afternoon, we came out with a few decent shots. Many thanks to the community boards on Google+ for helping me through the editing process.
Wedding Invitations with a Golden Compass
Kati and Tim tasked me with designing a gold invitation, RSVP card and map using a compass as the main art element.
At first, I thought, “Aw, they found their way to each other. How cute.” But no, Tim just happened to like the look of a compass. No romantic undertones involved.
After a few edits and one map catastrophe (I had the guests going in the wrong direction. Thanks to my husband who caught it before the final print), we came up with this little elegant number.
Rehearsal Dinner Invitations
Carrying the compass theme over into the rehearsal dinner invites, we switched to a navy font to incorporate the second wedding color and used a slightly different North Star as the main artwork.
